Rande, as a "lurker" on this site for a long time, I must say that I have enjoyed it. The last thing I want to do is to post something like someone you responded to recently. I would like to comment on your question "Could it be that America's REAL problem is complacency, selfish excess, glutony and decadence?". Although you posed it in the form of a question, I believe one could take a position that America's real problem is complacency, selfish excess, gluttony and decadence and defend it easily. It is quite unlikely that we could easily defend ourselves if we face other serious threats to our national security with the mind set of the current Administration. It is for that reason that I am very encouraged that we have a change of Administration in which I believe we WILL be more secure at the end of the next four years. Hopefully, my thoughts will prove prescient. The dynamics of the world are changing rapidly and I doubt seriously that the current visit of Yassar Arafat with Slick Willy will help our situation. Hopefully, nothing will be signed now and the process will be left to the next Administration that doesn't have the same "legacy" yearning that the current one does.
