Chinese water torture-Winter in America Style Happy New Year. My roof over my office has begun to leak over the weekend DRIP! DRIP!! DRIP!!!.... It's for the most part a flat roof(with maybe a 15° pitch). I t was initially built by my grandfather in '74. Attatched to the back of the garage for spring and fall use...Up here, they call them Florida rooms...Not intended for winter use. However, as we're packing the kids in the house like sardines, necessity dictated that I put my office here. SO I refinished it, ceramic tile, double pane insulated windows...tropical follage, lots of light and a sky light(I installed-shhhh!). There is new insulation in the roof as well, however, with a gas heater in here, and cracking the window to minimize affixiation, the snow on the roof(about a 2' snow pack) is continually cycling and there is now a huge ice build up on the ledge- my bet is close to 1000lbs. of ice stretching the span of the last two feet deep and the length of the structure. So Now...drip, drip, drip.... at the sliding door leading to the brick patio. I put one of my plants there to catch the run off. It is begining to annoy me. It is begining to annoy me...drip. Did I mention is is beginnning to annoy me? drip drip drip drip drip drip drip drip We need some warm weather to melt this off before my roof colapses. I went up there(drip drip drip) yesterday to relieve some of the pressure, but ice is too hard. Further, I feal the slightest bit of extra mobile weight I would provide would be enough to push it over the brink. I can't afford..drip...to replace it right now, with all the stuff I have drip....drip drip...going on. I'm drip really drip ready drip for drip drip drip drip drip spring.. drip drip drip drip Okay, I'll tell you anything you want to hear. Just please stop the DRIP DRIP DRIP DRIP DRIP DRIP DRIP DRIP DRIP DRIP DRIP DRIP DRIP Did I meniton I have five foot icycles? Need weapons?
