My contest picks are MUEI and GUMM. These are only two of many undervalued stocks out there. I think that a low priced stock has a better chance of winning such a short term contest, so I gave these two a higher priority for the contest over higher priced stocks.

MUEI is trading at its cash value net of long term debt. PCs are out of favor. Web hosting is out of favor. Memory is out of favor. That in a nutshell is this company's three main business units, hence the stock is out of favor and has been pushed down to an unreasonable price IMO. Tax loss selling and margin selling no doubt hit this one as well.

GUMM is trading at only about 3 times last year's sales compared to about 20 times sales for the biotech and drug industry. They have two new major gum products that should begin shipping this quarter: dental gum to Procter & Gamble and nicotine gum to the joint venture with Swedish Match. The first quarter comparison for Zicam compared to last year is also in Gum Tech's favor. The short interest is at an all time high and the new gum business could be the catalyst for a short covering rally. CSFB is in the thick of this as well.

Luck to all who participated!
