Up to last Tuesday, May 27th, the market had assumed a Liberal Majority and was rallying. On tuesday the Globe and Mail indicated that the Liberal support was slipping and a majority was not a sure thing. The market then sold off until friday.

From this we have to conclude that with a Liberal majority the market will rally, otherwise with any other result, we will have a selloff.

Basically the market likes Paul Martin and his policies.

But this for the short-term. In the long term the market is going up whatever the election result is.
