once again I have nothing but praise and admiration for your critical thinking and the way you articulate your thoughts. I hope you'll put the essence of Paula's message on this thread - dyin' to know what she said!

My wife and I were debating a bit tonight on the matter of interest rates affecting companies like ASND - indirectly. Utilities are capital intensive and it's a well established fact that when rates increase utility stocks go down as their capital costs increase. Whether that applies to telcos or not is an unknown, at least to me. But it is a fact that rates went down and ASND went up - coincidence or could the expectation of lower or stable interest rates affect telco purchase planning in a positive way?

Anyone?

I hope you're right about TNT; after all, they did set up a separate business unit (Ascend Multimedia Access Products) back in January and separately, announced a partnership with Panasonic's videoconferencing unit, as I recall.

It would be nice if TNT was (pardon the pun) a blockbuster product opening up new and less expensive ways of utilizing bandwidth for multiple purposes. Yuwei may do it but I'll not sell ASND short in any sense of the term.
