Melinda, the W era seems to be shaping up as a strange reprise of the Reagan/Bush years. History repeating itself as farce, or something. Like Reagan, W looks to be well set up as a figurehead, but at least with Cheney around it's clear who's really going to be running things. The odder analogy is with W's father. Fearsomely, W, like Quayle, seems to be only a heartbeat away from the Presidency.
