op - I thought Ed Yardeni put it very well when he chastized the CNBC interviewer for talking about similarities with Japan. He implied that talk like that could precipitate the very condition talked about.

He was also quite calm and level headed and said that the Fed better start doing something and it better be very soon and not little either.

I have said for months on the thread now that Mr G's irrational obsession with the Naz was going to drive the entire wolrd economy into a brick wall and we are now beginning to see this. He is Ahab chasing his White Whale of the Naz and he is going to drag us all with him.

The difference between him and Ahab is that he will go off to a well paid and unstressful retirement whereas those he has destroyed will have to live with the pain for years.

This man is simply awful. Sorry but thats my view.
