Swiss,
I am not expert on gays, but I did not have too much trouble figuring who they were in NY, LA, or San Francisco.
Try doing it in Lou KY, or Cookeville Tn, or Detroit. Not so easy. I think Austin provides some good ground cover too.
Bottom line, this W as a gay is just off base.
Don't ya think the CIAFBI/Republican Party would have a pretty good idea if W was gay and they would have put a stop to it. You have to remember that we Republican don't want a gay running for our office. Maybe that will change someday, but I don't think so. It has nothing to do with hating gays or anything like that. It has to do with putting someone in place who will represent our party. We want that to be someone who has the same values and I don't think that is best served by someone who is gay.
This also does not mean that we want someone who will be anti-gay. I don't have any problem with gays being gay. Like I said that is their business. As long as they don't try to sell me, or my kids (if I had any) on the concept that being gay is normal, then they can do what they want. It is when they cross that line that the trouble begins.
As long as they don't cross that line, and just respect their rights to personal choice, on a personal level, then so be it. We want their votes.
It is a very tough topic and I have not done it justice here, but suffice it to say, there is a place for gays and to ignore them is to ignore a part of the country...which is also wrong.
