craig: You point to an area which is really hard to call -- will AG view the current situation as one where urgent action is required? If you recall, the action he took during the Asian crisis was designed to head off what appeared to be a meltdown of the global financial system. It was shaping up to be a fast, fierce and devastating collapse if action was not taken. I don't see the current situation as having that edge of "dire consequence". AG called the tech stock move up for what it was -- a bubble. Why should he see the deflating of the bubble as anything more than the logical outcome? And why should it be "undesiarable"? If anything, AG might look at the markets and move in such a way as to prevent re-bubbling to take place. A Naz stabilizing around 2000 might be just what AG is looking for.
