Michael,
What has to happen to bonds to make them a reasonable bet to short? (With options of some sort, that is.) Does the remarkable drop in rates represent a bet on a fed ease? If so, could Greenspan possibly ease fast enough to satisfy the expectations implied by the yield? Or are soaring treasuries simply a flight from the Nasdaq disaster and the junk bond collapse? In which case, wouldn't shorting them at some point be a good bet, as foreigners start to get out of dollars?

A lot of questions, I know, but thanks for any insight into the arcane world of debt.
