okay, so far so good. there are more 'how-to' articles to post if you are not already up to your eyeballs in homework. i know that when i installed win2000pro i spent about 2 months preparing!! <g3> and the same for when i installed a second hard drive. i did tons of research. i just don't like to fly into things. some folks are able to do that AND have success. a lot aren't so lucky.

fwiw, i did install w2k on a bare disk. but i had windows on another drive to get me started. richard's post looks like a killer road map for what you want to do.

hopefully you have the hd installed properly, and you just need to focus on the os install. just a quick mention that some boxmakers (dell) like to set their jumpers on cable select rather than master. that may or may not matter in your case (no pun intended).

we're all hoping things go well. we'll wait to hear more.
