craig: I think we will soon see a stampede out of the market. You mentioned Japan -- in the aftermath of the bubble the "average guy" who swore again and again that he would never sell -- they all ended up selling. People ask "what is the alternative to the stock market?". Well, it is called "saving money" -- a concept that few Americans know anything about. AG would be delighted to see money flow out of stocks and into savings. The only thing he could not tolerate is a complete meltdown of the system. If If we saw the Naz plunge 1,000 points in a day there would be massive intervention. If the Naz falls 1000 points but does it quietly at 100 points a day during January -- there will be a moderate response.
