OT: Does anyone know what the entire market capitalization for equities was in 1987?

My guess is that it was roughly $2.5 to 3 trillion. I heard a number yesterday that about $3 trillion in market cap has been lost in US equity markets this past nine months. Essentially, we have experienced the equivalent of having taken the equity markets of 1987 to zero.

Pretty sobering thought.

If Broadcom gets into the 50's I will put everything I have into it.

Once Nasdaq jiggles around 2000 for a couple of weeks, it will be safe to re-enter the market in a very big way and entrenched short sellers won't be able to cover fast enough.

Interest rates are coming down; fast. The "Grinchspan" has made his point and may have enough heart left to realize his mistake of ratcheting rates up too far.

Cheers, Keith
