Efficient Networks (EFNT: news, msgs) shares fell 30 percent after warning investors that its second-quarter revenue will be lower than expected.

Efficient Networks said it expects second-quarter revenue of $100 million to $102 million after two key customers didn't place anticipated orders during the quarter. See full story.

Analysts surveyed by First Call expected revenue of $151 million with earnings of 12 cents a share, on average.

According to a company statement, Efficient is still working with these customers on future requirements. Actual results will be reported on Jan. 18.

Efficient Networks shares reopened from a trading halt and sank $4.31 to $8 on Island after closing down $1.94 to $12.31.
