I don't know, actually. This post was started, and i was the first reply. I questioned whether we needed another Atmel thread, given The Trend is About to Change on SI, the RB thread, and the Yahoo thread. But Yahoo has descended into more than occasional lewdness, flaming, obscenities; and the original SI thread stays inactive for days at a time. I watch all four.
Thanks for the Intel information. It shouldn't be a surprise to anyone that flash is hot. Someday it will be some other area, but Atmel is in several so it should maintain a good sales pace. I just get annoyed with commentators who take a "slowdown" in growth rate from 31% to 20% as a "slowdown -- period." All that means is that the growth rate of sales is declining, NOT that sales are declining. In fact, a 20% growth rate is incredibly good. Certainly for the time being, Atmel seems to be in the right places. Eventually (I hope it's sooner rather than later), its fundamentals will be the stimulus for a strong upward move.
