Superhawk, speaking of Y2K related news, recall the prediction (by lawyers of course) that Y2K related lawsuits could cost insurers upwards of $1 trillion? I was just leafing through the Fairfield County Business Journal and happened to see an article about the first such verdict, positive or negative, entitled "Court rules against Xerox on Y2K insurance claim". The article begins: "A New York state trial court on Dec. 20 ruled for an insurance company which refused to cover $138 million Xerox Corp. of Stamford said it spent upgrading computer systems to cope with potential 'Y2K' date rollover problems. New York Supreme Court Justice Charles E. Ramos granted summary judgment to American Guarantee, a Zurich affiliate, saying Xerox's lack of timely notice of a potential claim was prejudicial and mandated judgment for the insurer."

As for an IARC moonshot, they actually did muster a run from about .70 to 28 and change a year ago... which is more like a mars-shot. To ease the pain of not having bought any under a buck I tell myself I probably would have sold at $1.50. Well, that and a continuous intravenous drip of powerful sedatives (gg).

No idea what became of Mad Monk or Y2Kster. However I do see that Cheryl (C.K.Houston) and Terry (TEDennis) have both posted recently. Who would have thought in '98 that Joe Park would parlay his popularity at TPRO to an eventual landmark SEC lawsuit against Internet touts? Or that Terry would unretire to run a Y2K company? Or that FBN would be sued by Business Wire? Or that Kevin Watson would have quit programming mainframes to star as a womanizer on General Hospital (or was that someone who just looks like Kevin)?

Ahhh for the old days when we were carefree and anticipating the decline of civilization as we knew it (gg).
