Cook county is soley responsible.

There is nothing in Illinois law that prevents the county from doing anything regarding the election. Cook county has the authority and responsibility for the execution of the election not the state.

And how come, only the black districts have this problem ? The argument that new voters have problems may be true, but new voters are everywhere.

Could it be that the democraticlly run Cook county gives the old machines to the black districts ?

Could it be that there is some fraud going on here ?

What were the circumstances of this Senate vote ? Was it a democratic money grub trying to get the state to pay for a county responsibility ? Were there other priorities ? Is cook county in such dire financial circumstances that they need state funding ? Was it part of another bill that was rejected for other reasons ? Of course none of this matters as Cook county is the responsible party not the state. You and the Post can try to blame Republicans as much as you want. It is nothing more than vacant rhetoric. It is a false statement, since by Illinois law there is nothing preventing the county from doing what they need to to run an election.

Democrats have got to start taking responsibility for their own actions, or inactions in this case.

Cook county as known about this for years and failed to take action. It is their responsibility.
