Velo, you are doing some good work here at Sharck's. Congratulations on your accuracy and your success!
With regard to my comment about microcaps, I am certainly not changing my opinion about 2001 based on what microcaps do on a given day. I was merely pointing out that the expected January Effect was kicking in. . . .which [by definition] traditionally only affects the microcaps and a few small caps. And for the swing traders in our group, they make for some fun gains. . . I know I did well playing with a few yesterday.
And due to my "bias toward bullishness", of which I cannot disagree, I choose playing the swing on micros over holding shorts. My choice.
Incidentally, my REAL views on 2001 are here: Message 15097780
They are bullish. . . but nothing like in years past, when I was calling for jumping into certain high-fliers at any price. The market has certainly changed. While I would like to see your call for Naz sub 2K not happen, especially due to Recession pressures, it would not at all surpise me if it did. There isn't much further to go.
I have no problem with bears or bearishness. But nobody makes money in a true bear market. . .so no trader wants to see that happen ever again. In a true bear market, the markets open, nobody trades, then they close. . . .month after month, year after year. We would all have to go out and get jobs. . . and with the recession that accompanies a bear market, well. . .I remember 25 to 30% unemployment where I lived during the bear market of the 70's. . .it is not fun.
Best wishes to you,
