Warpfactor ? Your comments are a case study in investor psychology....

... your thinking & comments seemed to give all the reasons not to buy into tech here and yet your actions are quite contradictory to your own thinking ?

You stated reasons you thought the stocks would still go lower; but yet you bought ?

The tech investors here have been saying that since the first dip sub Naz 3000.

I have to ask; does anyone "really" buy anything they "really" think is going lower ?

"Self-Talk" is a psychological phenomena that I see expressed here quite often by investors - kind of a pseudo 3rd person consciousness factor.

If you think the NAZ is shaping up for one of those pop up & then double down collapse down days; why wouldn't you just wait for that "down" day to buy ?

And if you think Cisco is going to preannounce - why wouldn't you wait ?

...logically, you don't make any sense; but investors often act emotionally & not logically.

Either you're covering your ass/actions with commentary that's basically meaningless - ie: guaranteeing that you'll be right one way , or the other; either philosophically, or financially... personally; I prefer financially (VBG) -

Since your commentary is a direct contradiction to your actions; you are either "Self-Talk ass covering" or you are epitomizing the casino gambling & guessing - with an "ahh what the hell; let me just throw a dart, or spin the wheel mentality" of gambling & not investing ...

For the sake of my informal ongoing study of investor psychology & "Trading the Traders" vs the Fundamentals; when reality dictates this mindset; let me ask you a direct "clinical" question (VBG):

Out of curiosity; which is it ?

..self-talk ass covering, or casino gambling ?

PS: ... by the way; Cisco is going to lower guidance & dramatically so.

A GTC around $26 wouldn't be a bad idea (VBG).

Given "Reg FD" - still lots of potential surprises coming from Tech Q4 reporting as well as the bad news from the Xmas Retail season killing broad market investor sentiment....Naz sub 2000 coming to a threatre near you & soon perhaps...

... Warp; when in doubt, wait. And in this environment - patience, patience, patience...

I think the high reward/moderate risk re-entry opp for Tech; will only be if we see "cash" & not sector rotation as the only alternative.... an Individual Investor led redemption run - leading to indiscriminate Fund selling & an exodus to "cash" and not to other stocks - will signal the bottom & the buying opp imho.

Still; Sitting "Golden" Bull

Ciao~

PS S: hey "JQP" - let us know "realtime" for once; when you venture into Nat Gas futures will ya (VBG)?

Feb Nat Gas futures down - 14%.

PS S S: New highs only matter if they get put in the cash register...
