I would be delighted if you're right. I don't think anybody has contemplated a miss by Sun other than shorts and rumor-mongers. Even the felon/analysts that are downgrading SUNW are saying imbecilic things like "Unless there's a lot of upside to the quarter and higher guidance going forward, we see this as the turning point in the story." Translation: sorry, you can't win, period.

The numbers, whatever they are (barring a big blowout which isn't going to happen) are already history in effect; the guidance is all that matters, and that leaked cost-cutting memo is too big a clue to the guidance.

I'm also usually wrong, but I don't see this cut boosting the market (or at least tech) for long, and it will take a long market boost, not merely a good quarter, to put Sun back into an intermediate-term positive trend.
