A month or so ago I listed a long string of obstacles in our path: tax loss selling, early warning season, margin calls, excessive interest rates, etc. I think most of those are now cleared. The things we can now anticipate tend to be a bit more positive: earnings announcement, conference call, IRA fund inflow, decreasing interest rates, rising Euro, etc. Oil prices could still be a problem, as could a continued decline in the PC market, but time has healed a few wounds. This could be the real thing.

... sorry Charlie, but today is (probably) the biggest suckers rally in history ...

... much of the lousy earnings news is yet to come in the next three weeks, and the Fed has totally shot its wad (until March) - unless of course, the economy continues to disintegrate, in which case the Fed might cut rates by .25 on January 31, or between then and March 20 ...

... I say again, this is a true bear market that is not over ... SUNW itself may rally upon their earnings, but we are probably headed for a recession ...

I just placed a bid for a third (sold the other one yesterday) S&P 500 March 'put' - should be easy money <g> ... hope I get it.
