Um,

Coming from an MIS guy, I don't recommend 'tweaking' your work computer without direct knowledge or supervision from IT. Although many of the BIOS options that Mark mentioned make sense, some are deliberately set by the IS/IT department, and shouldn't be changed.

I know if any of my people did, I'd kill 'em. :)
