This is one of those situations where I'm trying to respect and understand other cultures and laws.....but I just don't understand this one....it just seems too severe (and I know other cultures think that Americans are too lenient in punishment of "convicted" criminals). Well, I do sincerely hope that some attention can be brought to this case, and that it will be done with respect to Nigerian culture and laws. And why is it the American media bombarded us with the case of the American male teenager in Asia who committed an act of vandalism and was sentenced to be caned, and yet we hear nothing about this teenage female from Nigeria unless we take the time to look for it? nevermind, the answer is in the question.
