Musicmaker.com (HITS:Nasdaq - news), an Internet supplier of digital music that can be downloaded from a computer, said its board voted to liquidate and dissolve the company.

The company said the liquidation plan will be submitted to the stockholders for a vote.

Musicmaker said the uncertainty in the music industry, limited financing and growth, and the company's inability to identify a buyer all contributed to its demise. The company said it believes the liquidation will return the greatest value to stockholders.

Shares of Musicmaker.com closed regular session Nasdaq trading at $2.88 but rocketed to $4 in after-hours Island activity.
