MSN Tops 4 Million Subscribers; 100% growth yr over yr ===== MSN Tops 4 Million Subscribers (01/03/01, 1:04 p.m. ET) TechWeb News Microsoft said Wednesday its MSN Internet access U.S. subscriber base topped 4 million in the past quarter. MSN users spent an estimated $3.6 billion online during the fourth quarter. Heightened activity was in part due to the October launch of MSN Explorer, which brought MSN services together into one place on the Web, the Redmond, Wash., company said. Since October, more than 3.5 million consumers have downloaded and used MSN Explorer, Microsoft (stock: MSFT) said.
