Sounds crazy but your 2 charts are not inconsistent. Your bullish chart is very short term and peaks (blue 5) at about 2700+ before heading down. Your bearish chart is longer term and shows short term peak (green 4) in the 2700+ range before heading down. Comments?

Personally the way I am playing all this is buying beaten down stocks mostly those with reasonable p/es, shorting high fliers when they come up for air, and with cash reserve.
