Yesterday, my portfolio endured its single worst day -- down 22% and meriting a special group of cells in my spreadsheet highlighting the infamous occasion. Today, my portfolio enjoyed its single best day -- up 25% and meriting a different group of cells in my spreadsheet commemorating this remarkbable day.

I know my portfolio is not unique in that regard. Even so, though each day's record performance is highlighted, the combined two-day period is also entered into my diary that applies to this year's investing year, brief as it is at the moment.

I use the diary to keep reminding myself of the really important stuff about investing. In this case, it helps me remember that extreme volatility is to be expected in Gorilla Gaming. (Even if a portfolio isn't totally dedicated to GGaming as mine is, the portion that is dedicated to it is surely no less volatile.) The other thing that it helps me remember is that on the very worst day imaginable, it's not impossible that the very best day imaginable might be no later than the very next day.
