The 50 basis point move changes everything. If you haven't loaded up at fire sale prices it's not too late to buy on dips. Hedge funds and other Short sellers will cover as money flows into equities. The sharpness of the rate lowering sends a very strong signal to the market. Buy now. I had been preparing for the rate cut since before Xmas but I was taking it slow, trying to buy at very good prices. So this AM when the cut came, I was only partially vested (I figured I had until the end of the month). In any case I knew what I wanted and when I figured out what had happened, I started whipping out trades.....I made ten trades in about 15 minutes. And when my broker's website wouldn't move fast enough, I used their phone system simultaneously to make it happen. I was like a mad man. <g> And now watch, tomorrow it will all crash and burn. ted
