As I'm fairly gregarious ... and hardly ever meet a stranger ... I suspect I know 3/4 of the folks in this town by name, section of town, some of their family, etc..... and that makes for a bunch ..... don't remember if I told you about my verrrrry good friend (one of the two district judges I've had as close personal buddies) ..... his wife and mine worked side by side for several years in the school system .. mine in charge of Federal Programs and Rachel in charge of Special Services .... any way ... like all good voters .. that is how the selections were called for jury duty .... I was called nearly every six months for five or six years and got dismissed for cause every time ..... Henry asked me if I knew EVERY criminal and victim in Lamar County ..... LOL he excused me permanently from his non civil cases for the next five or so years ....... could well be that I just know too many folks that go in harms way ..... and I've not even mentioned the daughter of one my good friends ... she is the same age as one of my daughters and they hung out together while in highschool ... she was in a horrible car wreck last week ... Dec26 (we both know that date, no?) ... still in intensive care ... she is a 4th year med student and she is going to have to improve greatly to even get back to school this next semester ..... could be I'm just a black cat, eh??????
