TXN downgraded on slowdown
--8:00 am - By Emily Church
Anticipating that the "the catalog DSP and analog business are exposed to weakening global demand," analyst Mark Edelstone at Morgan Stanley Dean Witter on Wednesday downgraded shares of Texas Instruments (TXN: news, msgs) to neutral from an outperform rating. While he sees the "wireless end-markets slowly recovering," he says in a note to clients that TXN has the largest DSP and analog portfolio is the largest in the world. He cut his 2001 earnings per share to $1.40 from $1.60. The consensus estimate from analysts for the year is $1.53, according to First Call."
