chiz2 -- Yeah, IMO as a long-term investor in the company, it's another exciting, "hare-raising" feat pulled off by the friendly magicians at GMGC (sounds like a commercial!).
Ms. Layton has great credentials, and I think she's the right person at the right time. But there will be those who justifiably need further evidence of fundamental improvements at the company before feeling totally comfortable in buying/owning the shares. . . and that's their choice. For example, Dain Raushcer thinks her appointment is a step in the right direction, but that it will take several quarters of flawless execution at the company for institutional investors to return to the story.
Perhaps that's true for some, but there are other more aggressive institutional investors that will look very favorably upon this management change, and be willing to initiate or add to positions in the stock well before evidence of positive execution and improving fundamentals/prospects become crystal clear.
Sure, there's more risk in buying now, but the risk in waiting for several quarters is that in the meantime the company pulls a few more rabbits out of the hat . . . in which case the stock is unlikely to be trading anywhere near as low as the current $2 level. I personally think that positive fundamental developments at the company are right around the corner, but we all have to make our own judgements/assumptions about this.
