Northern Miner via SH: down south (ID#: 86103) From the Northern Miner........ 1/4/01 08:17 2796752 Antana advances to scoping study 01/03/2001 Vancouver -- A 16-hole drill program by NDT Ventures (NDE-V) has confirmed the bulk tonnage, low-grade mining potential of the 40-sq.-km Antana gold property.
The reverse-circulation program focused on a 500-by-250-metre area from which significant values were obtained at surface. Highlights from drilling include:
Hole 1, which cut 50 metres (starting 16 metres downhole) grading 0.9 gram gold per; Hole 3, which cut 86 metres (starting 8 metres downhole) grading 1.5 grams gold; Hole 7, which cut 46 metres (starting at surface) grading 1.3 grams gold; and Hole 9, whcih cut 32 metres (starting at surface) grading 1.6 grams gold and 40 metres (starting 58 metres downhole) grading 2 grams gold.
According to the company, the zone lies in the footwall of the Main zone and is part of a much broader zone formed in a rhyodacite subvolcanic intrusive. The mineralized rock is strongly bleached, moderately to strongly silicified, and dissected by a diffuse network of silica stockwork stringers and limonite-stained fractures.
The Main zone, which outcrops over an area measuring 1,000-by-400 metres, forms a northwest-trending ridge.
A scoping study is planned.
NDT can earn a half-interest in the Atana property by paying US$1.5 million over three years. An initial payment of US$200,000 was made following the deal's signing.
