heinz blasnik...It is the strength of the dollar...Gold is a somewhat dated commodity and there is not the need to buy because the FED action is in fact good for the US economy and Dollar...If you want to make money short term on the short side look to shorting equities that have large investment banking arms such as GS...Last year with the liqidity these companies were able to post tremendous gains that simply will not happen the year so the year over year comparisons will be poor...There will not be the overly free flow of investment capital that we saw at the end of 1999 due to the year Y2K scare so the comparisons will be weak...The 50 basis point cut will not affect the economy in a true sence for about 6 months...
