rudedog, re: We developed our own network-based configuration and deployment tool. That's what Jumpstart does. Done the same thing here, even let's you install different versions of the OS on specific hosts/classes of machines. Having worked with both NT and UNIX, installation is not so hard on a massive scale, each vendor has provided tools for that problem. I've always found the day to day application maintenance/rollout much more difficult on NT than UNIX.
