<<< hung on to most of his LEAPS (now practically all 03)>>> (Glad to hear this at least, since I feel some responsibilty since I encouraged looking at and DD re:the Q '03's. some moons ago)

The Q's '03's still seem like worth DD (though I hold nothing but the stock itself) but when the 04's are available this spring, those LEAPS might be worth DD. Still think that given the special situation with regard to timing on Qualcomm's widespread initiatives and the potential of CDMA/HDR with the wireless internet/intranet nexus, while the basic stock is preferable, LEAPS may be worth a look and DD as a supplement.

The rest is a hard learning experience, but been there, done that, with all sorts of trading experimentation when I was your age (not options though).

Joy is in long term buy and hold for gorillas and kings in my own case.

(Still experiment with a few young companies and baskets in wireless and fiberoptics though - which are held lightly and are consolidated toward the emerging leader in the case of baskets - otherwise nonperformers ruthlessly sold).

Best as always.
