Registry Magic and Holiday Inn To Deploy World's First Full Service Bluetooth Hotel Industry and Technology Leaders Partner to Implement High Profile Suite of Guest Services BOCA RATON, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 4, 2001-- In a landmark announcement today, Registry Magic (Nasdaq:RMAG - news) and Holiday Inn Wall Street will partner to implement the world's first full service Bluetooth-enabled hotel. A premier provider of customer interface solutions, Registry Magic will employ its recently released Bluetooth-based Consumer Payment Network in conjunction with Bluetooth-enabled cell phones and devices from leading manufacturers to enhance the traditional guest services currently being offered. In keeping with its record of being the most technically sophisticated hotel in New York City and its to become the most technically sophisticated hotel in the world, the Holiday Inn Wall Street will now be able to allow their guests to check in and out, make payments at in-house restaurants, secure access to their rooms, utilize the Internet, and pick up phone messages utilizing Bluetooth wireless technology.
``With the addition of these wireless guest services, the Holiday Inn Wall Street has once again set the standard in providing the most comfortable and high-tech customer experience,'' said Frank Nicholas, General Manager/Area Director for the Holiday Inn. ``Our guests will now have another choice in how they enjoy and utilize technology in our world-class facility.''
Registry Magic is bringing together leading technology providers for this groundbreaking installation, and expects to continue to forge strategic alliances in other Bluetooth-based Consumer Payment Network endeavors. ``Response to our Consumer Network service has been incredible,'' said John Falcone, Senior Vice President of Technology and Business Development. ``Companies have invested a lot of resources in wireless technologies with little results, particularly in the case of Bluetooth. Since what we provide is the infrastructure to conduct transactions, we create the opportunity to deploy solutions.''
Implementation is scheduled to be complete in February, in time for the Internet World Wireless conference February 20-23. Registry Magic and the Holiday Inn Wall Street will conduct special demonstrations of the technology for the media during the conference, and will provide conference guests staying at the Holiday Inn with Bluetooth-enabled devices so that they can utilize the new wireless guest service suite, including the ability to check in and out, make payments at in-house restaurants, secure access to their rooms, utilize the Internet, and pick up phone messages.
``Registry Magic has assumed a leadership position in the deployment of `true' commercial Bluetooth applications,'' added Falcone, ``that is, those applications that will have a real impact in people's everyday lives. Our focus remains on the consumer, and how technology can enhance their way of life.''
