The idiot put "Partition Magik" over the 30G FAT32 partition, which rearranges disk partitions logically, through who-knows how many layers of linked directory trees (AFAIK). When copying large amount of small files, it creates HUGE seek overhead, and overall transfer must be really slow. There is no limit in people idiocies.
