The Trust Fund certainly contains no economic assets I see the "word" is finally getting out.. You're the first person I've notice, other than myself, to openly admit that here on SI. I literally had to beat a bunch of Gore supporters over the head with this information earlier this fall. They just couldn't seem to grasp the fact that Gore's "lock-box" was just more smoke and mirrors. Bush, and the bi-partisan Senators who first authored his SS reform plan, has the right idea. And that is simply to permit taxpayers to take 2% of their 15% FICA taxes and divert it to an accredited IRA plan. It would provide them real ownership of a hard asset, as opposed to being a recipient of a government entitlement that future taxpayers are burdened to pay for.
