and the fact that it was even possible draws into question the necessity of the rate change in the first place.

The patient is on his death bed, mortally wounded. The Doctor arrives and administers a drug which is only used in the most serious cases and only when death is the alternative because of the serious side effects. Under the best of cases it is known that this treatment takes months to work, and recent tests have drawn into question whether or not it works at all.

Before the doctor is able to withdraw the syringe the patient arises from the death bed and runs a mile in the fastest time ever.

Something just doesn't seem right with this picture.
