Olu, lots of folks preach a good game but don't step up to the plate when it really makes sense. Why tax a poor family's income at all? Aren't they already paying enough in excise tax, gasoline tax, electricty tax, oil tax, telephone taxes, sales taxes, "freeway" tools, various fees, postage stamps, and all these other hidden fed and state taxes?
Skeeter seems to think it begins and ends with income tax. i don't know about you, but I'm slipping the wasteful govt 6% to 39% (gasoline) every tme I friggin sneeze.
If skeeter gets his way, and increases the taxes on the wealthy 3% who already pay 34% of the tax in this country then, watch the job creation rate fall off a cliff.
BTW, remember the "luxury tax" that all the liberals put into place?? Well as it turned out, many boatbuilders closed down and it put a lot of carpenters, sailmakers and marine yard folks out of work. Nice going, lefties! (they voted to repeal it, after they saw all the damage it did! )
There ought to be no income taxes on the first 20k or so, then after that, everybody pay the same %.
