>> What makes me grumpy is people who post here as if the readers are complete idiots <<

Seems to me that you and HJ are always the ones calling people idiots. I may have been gone for a while but I have read thousands of William's posts and he never struck me as an offensive individual. Same for Fowler, even though he said I have a big ego. <g> I noticed everyone was much nicer back in Feb when I quit posting. That's because everyone was making money!

>> People who can't remember what they said yesterday, <<

When they've got you and HJ to dredge up every trade they have ever made why should they even try to remember! You take care of that for them!

>> And folks like William who merrily ride the market down in the face of an obviously slowing economy, <<

Why are you so concerned with what he is doing? I can tell that William is quite comfortable with his investment strategy, for better or for worse. Same for Mark F. How do I know? Look at their demeanor. Usually polite and restrained unless really provoked. That tells me they are probably living quite comfortable lifestyles and are pretty content.

>> asking me why I am "affected by sentiment". <<

He is simply stating his opinion. He thinks that you are too bearish and have bought into all this bear hype. I agree with him wholeheartedly.

You can always tell who is making money and who is not on these threads by how cranky they are. Heck, when my long positions weren't going my way a couple of days ago I was beginning to get cranky myself! I was really getting ticked off at Greenspan because I think he needed to ease NOW, not on Jan 31.

There is only one person that I know of on this thread who never changes his demeanor whether he makes money or loses it. That person is Glenn. Always polite and considerate. For a person to have some tough breaks in the last year or two like he has had and still be as friendly and courteous as him tells me that money and the stock market are not the most important thing to him in life.

We should all strive to be more like him.
