Hi pass pass, here's another one: Giant Loop. They're doing some things lately that give them the appearance of being a serious play. The other day they cut a deal with NT for a boatload of WDM equipment. Today, they tell how they are going to use those WDMs:

The question could also be stated, will these startups crash the Bells' parties, or will they themselves crash and burn? Very likely, some of them will be taken out by the ILECs, just as MFNX, who is the largest of the new breed, has been funded in part by VZ. Well, that's not exactly being taken out, yet. Some are still waiting for the other shoe to drop on that one.

ps - I know it's DWDM. But dense is a relative quality. What's dense today is not so dense tomorrow. It's still WDM to me. |
