Randy - Re: "Does Intel produce any flash in the Compact Flash format? I have yet to see any that is Intel branded. If they do not, why not? Is there a design license standing in their way?"

CompactFlash memory cards generally use NAND-type Flash memory chips - with an internal serial-addressing architecture.

Intel currently doesn't make this type.

Instead, Intel's Flash devices use a NOR architecture, which basically allows random read and write access from any memory byte in the array.

Intel's primary markets are for data program storage (BIOS) used in motherboards and cell phone data storage.
