My letter to Paul on the MusicCard:

Paul,

Having attended a meeting with four others with Scott Roix, a number of topics was discussed. One approached the MusicCard.

Scott mentioned he had done a personal survey where five teams had tried the door-to-door sales approach that met with failure. He said this would not work and was canning this method.

He also brought up the losses being incurred with the sale of CDs. He said this was unacceptable and would look at solutions. My understanding was there would be an effort to bring the MMC with CD sales to some semblance of self-sufficiency. If this reorganization of the MMC failed, then it would be canned in it's entirety.

To the best of your knowledge at this point what are the options available to salvage the MMC since we have an up and running site with a solid inventory available.

1. Raise CD prices?

2. Terminate CDs altogether?

3. Use the MMC as a promotional corporate item?

4. Integrate it within the MyCard Membership Club if it comes to fruition?

5. Other alternatives?

I realize the MMC will be but a minor part of the overall strategy, but it was what brought many of the longs to the company. Therefore, it is still a point of discussion.

Thanks, Bob

His repsonse:

Bob,

We are exploring ways to use the myMusicCard/myCard programs as part of profitable corporate promotional programs. Conceptually, we would want these programs to be profitable, or at least have real value as part of a corporate promotion. I think it is safe to say that we do not anticipate that these myMusicCard/myCard programs will be a major source of revenues or earnings going forward, given the size and scope of other promotions that are in the works.

Paul
