There are small energy traders popping up... just like the small airlines during airline deregulation. Traders only need a phone and a computer... that's what my office looks like, and since I make money I suppose I 'jack up the price' to the end user too. As for "Power companies learn how to extract billions"... it sounds exactly like the oil companies during the energy crisis.. you've got booming demand in California causing shortages, nothing more, nothing less... JMO In time more generators will come into the market with these high prices. They would have come in sooner if the market were truly deregulated IMO.
