Hello Robert,

Very Interesting Information....!
Could the employment rate be higher because of Christmas Season sales persons? Their layoffs will be found in the next survey. Around here, Boston, we've had another powerful expansion period similar to 1980s in housing and general well being. It has been a good period of time over the last 5 years and in some ways more powerful. Boston is now the second largest center for money management in the USA and fourth in the world. Occupancy rates are at minus levels, both housing and comercial, even with the new buildings coming to completion. I hope it doesn't end in the mess that 1987 caused.

I suspect there's substantial confusion surrounding 'this particular entrance' into a recessionary phase in our economy. Given the Nasdaq's recent climb and euphoric participants, the level of denial may take longer to establish its presence.

This report on Mutual fund redemption's is perhaps the first really significant example of change. BTW take a look at the header of this thread, it's filled with useful links.

Finally, I believe the International community of traders are the key here in any forward looking scenario. We are going from $150 dollar champagne to $50.00, not the $5.00 Stuff..! <smile>
