UNSUBSCRIBING...

taking yourself off of newsletters and emails and promos and bulletins and the like.

is there any chance that they would make it as easy to UNSUBSCRIBE as it is to SUBSCRIBE? No Way, Jose.

some sites are okay, i admit. but the majority direct you all over the place to find the unsubscribe button. then there's the confirmation. boy do i enjoy getting that. not. i just spent 10 minutes checking and unchecking and reading all of their "are you sure?" and "are you absolutely certain?" questions, only to receive yet another email bulletin from them saying, duh, "you have just unsubscribed". the really really annoying unsubscribe notifications (and silicon investor seems to be the champion in this category) are the ones that include instructions on how to subscribe in case you've changed your mind in the last 10 minutes and now wish to start the entire process all over again.

some might say, well, why subscribe in the first place? because i want to see if what they offer is any darn good! little do i know that it's going to evolve into a test of nerves and internet skills just to extricate myself from their techno-babble grip!

:)
