10,650 should hold on the Dow; a nice uptrend line from 12/21 and 1/3.

This probably isn't the best place for a discussion of holiday toy sales, but eToys did about 50% less business than expected, and they made a pretty decent multi-channel effort, not just Web-based. Given that Toysrus only went up 3%, toysrus.com/Amazon stole market share, but the market definitely did not grow. Heck, if toys can't grow sales in December, who can?

It was an abysmal month; NAPM and car sales fell off a cliff. I take manufacturing as seriously as anyone; it's still the real economy, IMHO, and the downturn shouldn't be taken lightly.

An interesting struggle here: as goes the first five days, so goes the year. Can COMPX end Monday above 2470?
