Jeff, re: effect of baby boomers on stock market If an academic economist has written on this, I am unaware of it. There is a guy working for one of the major brokerage houses, usually labeled an "economist"--I don't remember his name at the moment--who theorizes that the baby boomers' planning for a retirement without much help from Social Security caused the big rise in the market in the 90s. But this same guy predicted it was likely that Y2K would be a huge disaster, too. So his credibility took a bit of hit. :-) Sorry not to be of any help. Craig Newmark
