What a good group this is! Friendly, civilized, knowledgeable, and helpful. Makes lurking a pleasure....
Now the questions. Recently installed W2K Pro over Win98SE and have gotten it de-kinked, more or less. But I do have a huge number of duplicate files, such as drivers and fonts. Many WINNT files are duplicated in Windows\System32 folder. And I still have a Windows\Fonts folder, which seems to duplicate most of what's in WINNT \Fonts. Can I delete the former?
I may have brought all these duplicates on myself. In the upgrade installation I originally elected for the NTFS format on the C drive, but kept FAT32 on my D drive for programs. I soon converted D to NTFS too, but all these duplicates remain either from that or from the original upgrade install. I'd rather run a cleaner machine.
All insight welcome. Also, any advice on most useful W2K newsgroups out there? They don't seem to be as expert as for example the Netscape Communicator group with its Champions.
Thanks to one and all.
